Sony Computer Entertainment has just confirmed that a new instalment of Ubisoft's big boy action series, Assassin's Creed, is coming to PSP.
An "exclusive instalment" in the series will debut on Sony's Portable later this year, it said at the Destination PlayStation retail and publisher conference today.

Good news, the Internet! Your "bring Assassin's Creed to PSP" petitions totally worked. SCEA announced during Destination PlayStation today that the game will appear courtesy of Ubisoft on Sony's portable later this year. In fact, your efforts were so effective, Sony's releasing an Assassin's Creed-themed bundle, though the only component they're talking about now is a Piano Black PSP.
SCEA stopped short of actually saying the move was thanks to the overwhelming, petition-generated e-pressure, but you'll always know the truth in your hearts.

Yet more games have been announced for the PSP, along with a couple of new hardware bundles.
Most exciting, unless you have ovaries and are under 12, is the announcement that a portable version of Assassin's Creed is on the way. A Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed the news to Eurogamer this afternoon, but couldn't offer us a release date. A hardware bundle including the Piano Black PSP is promised, for the US anyway.
